What type of records can you obtain? We can obtain almost every type of record imaginable with the exception of records from the Texas Workers Compensation Commission. Although records from the TWCC must be requested directly by the attorney, we will be more than happy to submit the request and make subsequent follow-up calls on your behalf.

How long will it take to receive my records? If your order is time sensitive, simply notify us in advance and we will fax the authorization or subpoena to the records custodian, mail or hand-serve the original, and follow up with immediate phone calls.

Can I specify the way my records are organized? Yes. Our normal procedure is to organize records in chronological order. However, we can customize each set of records to your specifications.

Will you notify me for fee approval before picking up the records? Yes. Advantage Records will pay all custodian fees up to an amount approved by you and we will notify you for approval of any fees in excess of the pre-set amount.

Can I subpoena government records? Typically government offices do not honor subpoenas. You will need to provide an original signed release from the individual to whom the records pertain in order to obtain those records. Advantage Records can obtain records from most government agencies except the Texas Workers Compensation Commission. Any records from the TWCC must be requested directly by the attorney. Advantage Records has full access to any necessary forms and can supply them upon request or they may be downloaded from our website.

Do you copy X-rays? Yes. Our normal turnaround time is 24 hours, however, if you need them sooner just let us know.

Can you do on-site copying? Yes. We have the equipment to scan records at the Custodian´s office. This is preferred because it ensures completeness and accuracy. It also allows us to copy flow sheets, fetal monitor strips and any other oversized original that is best viewed in one continuous piece.

Will you direct bill my client? Yes, with the appropriate information, we can direct bill your client. In fact, we are an approved vendor for numerous insurance carriers. Just send us your request with the necessary information.

Will you split the taxable cost between all co-defendants? Yes, but this information needs to be given to us at the time the original order is placed. This eliminates any problems concerning billing when the records are delivered.

How will you notify me of the progress of my order? We can notify you via e-mail or fax; whichever you prefer. Also, all status information is available via our secure, web-based interface twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
